For y = A·sin(Bx+C)+D: period = 2π/|B|.
For y = A·tan(Bx+C)+D: period = π/|B|.
sin(3x): period = 2π/3 ≈ 2.094. The wave completes 3 full cycles in 2π.
Effect on the graph
Larger B = shorter period (more compressed horizontally). B = 1 gives standard period 2π. B = 2 halves the period.
