Sphere: SA = 4πr²

Cylinder: SA = 2πr² + 2πrh (total) or 2πrh (lateral only)

Cone: SA = πr² + πrl (total) or πrl (lateral only), where l = slant height

Cube: SA = 6s²

Rectangular prism: SA = 2(lw + lh + wh)

Total vs lateral surface area

Total: All surfaces including top and bottom (bases).

Lateral: Only the side surface, excluding bases. Useful for wrapping, painting sides, etc.
