Rational zeros calculator
Find all rational roots of a polynomial. Lists candidates using p/q theorem and verifies each.
p(x) =
Rational root theorem
For polynomial aₙxⁿ+...+a₀, any rational root p/q has p dividing a₀ and q dividing aₙ.
For x³−6x²+11x−6: a₀=−6, aₙ=1. Candidates: ±1, ±2, ±3, ±6. Testing: f(1)=0 ✓, f(2)=0 ✓, f(3)=0 ✓.
Using the results
Once roots are found, the polynomial factors as aₙ(x−r₁)(x−r₂)... For our example: (x−1)(x−2)(x−3).
