Normal PDF calculator

Find f(x) — the height of the normal bell curve at any x-value. Specify mean μ and standard deviation σ.

x =
μ =σ =

Normal PDF formula

f(x) = (1/(σ√(2π))) × e^(−(x−μ)²/(2σ²))

At the peak (x = μ): f(μ) = 1/(σ√(2π)). For standard normal: f(0) ≈ 0.3989.

PDF vs CDF

PDF gives the curve height (density). CDF gives the area under the curve (probability). P(a ≤ X ≤ b) = ∫f(x)dx from a to b.
