The five numbers
Min — smallest value. Q1 — 25th percentile. Median — 50th percentile. Q3 — 75th percentile. Max — largest value.
Box plot
The five number summary defines a box plot: the box spans Q1 to Q3, the line inside is the median, and whiskers extend to min and max (or 1.5×IQR for modified box plots).
