Coterminal angles

Find angles coterminal with a given angle — they share the same terminal side on the unit circle.

Angle°

What are coterminal angles?

Angles that end at the same position. Add or subtract 360° (or 2π radians) to get a coterminal angle.

45° is coterminal with 405°, 765°, −315°, −675°, etc.

Finding coterminal angles

Positive: θ + 360°n. Negative: θ − 360°n. The smallest positive coterminal is θ mod 360°.
